Fuels 50 2019: Top 5 Store Brands by Market Share

How Circle K grew its fuel volumes 21%

LAVAL, Quebec -- When examined by store brand, Alimentation Couche-Tard’s Circle K ranks highest, with a market share of 6.4% for 4,947 sites. (Measured as a gas brand with 1,625 sites, its market share falls to 2.1%.)

Over the past five years, Circle K’s North American fuel volumes have grown 21%, says Jeff Burrell, vice president of global fuel supply. He says the Circle K fuel brand has grown across North America in site count, especially in the Midwest and Southwest.

“We have now completed hundreds of fuel brand conversions to Circle K fuels in the U.S., with hundreds more to come by the end of the fiscal year,” he says. “By unifying the Circle K brand inside our stores and at our fuel islands, our goal is to increase brand awareness and to have a more enhanced and easier shopping experience for our customers.”
